Hey LJ, are you still on the stock coils and have you experienced any problems with them yet? What coils do you recommend if the stockers start to give up? I havent had any problems yet at near 600 whp and hopefully mine will be good for around 700 whp but I just wanted your input incase they do start to give me issues.
The stock coils are holding up fine so far. Here is a run at 23psi with copper plugs and it did not like that at all. I threw some iridium 8s in it and it cleared up. If the ignition system gives up I will be doing a custom MW pro 14 with either denso cbr coils or something similar. The problem with e85 is that you have to dump so much fuel into the motor, that sometimes its hard to ignite.

Thanks for the info LJ. Yeah, I switched from the iridium 8's to coppers and started having all kinds of breakup at times, even gapped down to about .022". When I had the iridium 8's gapped to .028", I had no problems at all, just wanted to see if the coppers would do as good since they are so much cheaper. I'm now switching back to the iridium 8's.

Great numbers on 23 psi of boost.

Bumping this thread. Curious about haltech. Can you pass emission on s2k? I've wanted go haltech when I had Z, but oh well. How it works on boost s2k? Does it needs modif wires etc? If yes, what do we need to purchase to work this on s2k? Thanks.

I had iriduim 9's in the car and was lossing spark @ ~25lbs of boost right @ the 650whp mark.

Backed down 1lb of boost to 24lbs and it seemed to hold ok.

I'm wondering if I should stay w/8's, or keep the 9's for 700whp on 93+meth?

The haltech is the best system that money can buy for its price. There is no bs as far as bugs or issues at all!! The damn thing just does what you tell it to do. I feel that the syestm being a non plug and play really pushes alot of people away. In all honesty, I truly think that it being a non plug and play is a plus. If you ever need to sell the car for some reason. You could just take the ecu out and put it in virtually anything you choose. As far as emission, you can wire it as a standalone or inline with the stock ecu. We have used it inline with the stock ecu just because we wanted the stock ecu to control the dash . The platinum 1000 and 2000 control the dash because it has many outputs. Close loop operation works really well with this system.

To answer the question about ethanol. I personally feel that a hotter plug will work better with ethanol. I run iridium 9's on my car without any issues, but the 8's have been working pretty good as well.
