the s2000 rear isn't a drop in and go gear set for the rear, it can be very tricky, and of tolerances aren't correct it will let you know whining, clinging, then finally failing, assuming the owners know nothing about hand building a diff. Spend more money now and have it done right by an expert with great customer service and warranty vs doing it yourself, jacking up the diff, diff failing then you finding an expert to do it correctly

Just to clarify, I don't consider 1.7 sixty foots "hard". I only left on 13-14lbs of boost and clutched out of the hole rather than dumping. If you plan on abusing the rear, I recommend getting the strongest diff you can afford.

By the time you spend the time to make the straps, machine the caps, machine the solid spacer its cheaper to just go with puddy. Believe me, I looked into it. i have a cnc machine and all the tools at my disposal to make all this stuff. At the end of the day it just wasnt cost effective.

@wadzii sorry I can't quote you directly I'm on my phone.

But you could get the comptech ones or something as an alternative.

But my pricing in my head went like this

Miata gear $2-400
Cryo $300
Solid pinion $70 (after shipping id assume)

Honestly was thinking probably could get it done for $1500 tops. My girlfriends dad can make the bearing caps, I haven't taken the time to draw up the caps in solid works for him to price it for me.

My above price list is just a rough guesstimate as I have not looked into doing it in a while. I don't launch it, but last time I did I only broke an axle lol. But truthfully I prefer the axles to be the weak link. As mine are under warranty at the parts store lol

That works for YOU but across the board, that doesn't fly. Also, puddymod stage 2 is around $1580 maybe less, completed ready to install and the puddymod stage 1.5 is $950....so you doing it yourself actually wastes your dollar per performance value... stage 1.5 cost is on page 5 https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/558...able-products/
