Pulling motor and trans
im going to agree, dropping the subframe is the easiest way to remove the engine, it comes right out with no issues, the hardest part is going to be lifting the car high enough to slide the subframe/engine assembly out. If you have an way to get to a lift, that will seriously cut your labor time in half

Just for future ref.. to lift the car high enough, rather than using jacks & wood, can I hook up the engine hoist to the cross member & lift the front end from there?
you may have to take the hood off.. but i usually take the hood, fenders and bumper off anyway to keep from damaging them anyway.
If you are careful with placement, you can put the rear of the car up on jackstands so that you dont have to lift the front quite so high, but you have to watch it.. the car may try to slide off the jackstands in the rear (I leave the rear tires on just in case)
