Default purchasing previously turbo'd car

Hey,

Hope I dont get flawed for this but im going to go for it anyway. I'm considering buying 530clubracer's 2008 CR. He was previously turbo'd on inline stage 1 with 3mm headgasket and went back to completely stock a few months ago. He's located in CA, im in NY so I was going to have 3rd party car inspection company take a look just to make sure it runs okay.

Do you think this sounds crazy on my part for buying a car that was previously heavily modded? Plus their was entire engine bay shave/wire tuck performed...

Any comments or main things to watch out for is appreciated. Considering buying this because my 07 s2k goes back this month

IF the car was well taken care of previously weither turbo or not you should be ok. You know.. routine maintenence and what not. The only thing I would be somewhat concerned with would be if when he did the wire tuck if some of the harness was modified which may lead to wiring gremlins down the road which can become EXTREMELY annoying

Compression/leak down.

Frankly unless it was a killer deal I'm not sure why you wouldn't just buy a non-boosted car.

On just the wire tuck alove, i wouldnt buy it.

there's nothing special at all about a CR. I'd find a car that has not been so molested.

I have a customer here that has had so many problems with the wire tuck job on his car (done by a pro) he is going to sell it.

not to mention invasive engine work.

You'll have less horsepower with that headgasket. Why don't you buy your lease?

Considering buying my lease out...not sure if I can find better deal elsewhere. My car is '07 GPW with red/black interior. Pretty mint condition minus normal wear and tear on bumpers, 44k in miles. buyout is $19k so im still on the fence.

i would never buy a wire-tucked and turbocharged car that's "back to stock"

$19k for an '07 with 44k miles seems like a decent price (by CA standards). not a steal, but at least you know the history of the car. I'd buy it for $18k.
