Default Question about Supercharged s2k's

My friend has a 2001 S2000 pushing 5psi on a supercharger and said it will totally destroy my 12.8 second Mustang GT. True or false? I have gotten answers from the mustang guys, but of course most of them tell me the mustang will win, although some do say i will lose. I would like to hear the Honda side of the arguement. Thanks!

5 PSI seems low, 6-10 would be more like it for most kits. It is possible but not likley but there is only one way to find out, take them down to the track.

He wont race me from a dig, weve had a competition going on for a while. He hasnt won yet, i beat him by about 3-4 cars stock for stock. Every time i win he comes up with an excuse and every time we are about to race something magically breaks. I want to race from a dig because i think thats the best chance i had but he wont do it, he wont go to the drag strip either. What do you guys think?
Thanks !!

Calculate the power:weight of each car and that'll give you a good idea. If he's pushing 5psi of boost, then he's probably ~260whp, roughly.

If you race him from a dig enough times, you'll win because eventually his rear diff will explode

Doubtful. If your mustang is a high 12 second car, your going to wipe the floor with him.

5psi SC s2k is a mid 13 second car at best.

Ah nice to have information from you guys. I really dont know much about s2000s. Ive seen a few stock ones at the strip and only saw low-mid 14's so i didnt know what to think of a supercharged one.

My Comptech setup was 5.5 psi of boost, 308 hp. With me driving it was a mid 13 second car. With someone else it MIGHT have done low 13's.

300whp in a car as light as an S2k is capable of a whole lot better than low 13s, but of course that would require a real launch on real tires and probably result in a bork diff.

If he only has 5 psi with a comptech (vortech comes with 7.5 psi) then he wont be coming close to a 12.8 second pass . However you stated that you would beat him 3-4 cars every time stock for stock . If youre mustang is in fact a 12.8 sec machine then you should have put at least 10 + car lengths on him . Now if in fact you only beat him by 3-4 car lengths when he was stock and now he is supercharged with only 5 psi he should hand you youre ass ! Keep it safe though ! Assuming youre still running the same setup though !
