At some point I am going to have my S2000 engine built. It wouldn't have happened by now if it wasn't for good old Uncle Sam gouging my wife and I pretty good. Anyways, I had pretty much narrowed my choices down to Laskey Racing or inlinePRO. If I was located near inlinePRO it would be a no-brainer (no offense at all to Laskey Racing). However, since they are on the opposite coast shipping because a fairly significant expense (which could be completely avoided if I used Laskey Racing since they are in my area).

About a year ago I decided to make my S2000 a full-time drag car. At that time my goal was around ~750rwhp. That power, coupled with the fact that my S2000 would weigh under 2500lbs, would equate to some pretty quick times. Not quick enough though. Quit honestly I want to compete against the likes of Buschur Racing and AMS. They have Evos running in the 9s no problem. 9s. I'd like to see 8s!

Ok. Down to brass tax. I will want a motor build that will support ~1000rwhp. Buschur Racing and AMS both build Evo engines that support ~1000awhp. Very stout. I view the F22 as a better engine then the 4G63. PSI for PSI the F22 should produce more power. The problem I foresee is I haven't seen a shop build an F22 engine that could support 1000rwhp. Maybe an engine has been built to support this power, but nobody has pushed the engine that far? Don't know. Laskey Racing rates their engine build to ~750hp. I believe inlinePRO rates their build for ~800hp. So, where does that leave me? Wondering who can build my motor that will support an insane amount of power.

I am sure you can get InlinePro to build you a motor to handle that power. A 2.5L With a GT42R or PT70 would be in your range.

The S should be able to achieve those #'s but its not the most practical platform to do it with. It will all come down to spending big money to get what you want.

Just going for 750hp has cost me some nice money, but I know the smile on my face will tell you it was worth it in the end.

Full-Race is developing a new turbo manifold for the S2000 which has a T4 housing and dual 44mm wastegates. I will either purchase that manifold or have a local shop that has fabricated several parts for me make one.

I am looking at running a TH-400 to handle the power and really help me hook. I have the inlinePRO R200 diff kit, but may end up selling it and have my S2000 back-halved, get a Competition ladder bar setup and Ford 9" rear end. Yes, there won't be much left of my S2000, but at least I'll still have the exterior look and partial uni-body.

^^Looks like it will be a good setup. I'll be keeping a eye out for your setup when you start your build.

I talked to Ya @ inlinePRO and he is pretty confident their motor could support up to 1000hp. Arnold (blues2K) last made around 900rwhp on the inlinePRO built motor.

I bet they rate their engines at 750 and 800whp because noone takes it past that point. Really just make sure you have some really strong con rods since they are going to see a ton of rpms. I cant wait to see some pics from youur build, good luck.

Ya told me they use billet rods...which are apparently stronger then forged. Thanks for your interest in my project. Unfortunately it will take another year or so before she is closer to being done.

ERL Performance claims to have built 2 1200 HP drag f20's outta Canada, ask for Sean. I just got my block back from them and I felt there customer service was right on.
