Default Question on what turbo kit to go with

Hey guys! Just to let you know I am a noob when it comes to turbo's. I have always had n/a cars and I think I am ready to switch to turboing the S. I have been doing a lot of research on the greddy turbo kit and thought it was the kit I was going to go with, but I have a small problem. I have a T1R 70RT single exhaust and I dont want to change it. It seems like I will have boost creep with the greddy kit and I really don't want to blow my motor. My goals are to have 300-350hp with a turbo kit with a stock motor. I would be happy with any number between. What kits do you guys recommend tht I could run with my current exhaust with it's TP without boost creep? The reason the greddy kit will creep is because of it's small wastegate. What turbo kits are some of you guys running with a 70mm test pipe and 70mm exhaust without problems?? I just want to find the right kit before I spend all this money. Thanks

cameron

first, let me congratulate you on your decision to FI your s2k.

second, wait a few months at best and check out what mase engineering does with his s2k turbo kit. out of the box, it will make 400whp on a gt30r. its gonna be the absolute best bang for the buck you can buy in a turbo kit.

if you are very adamant on your power goals, then i highly reccomend a SOT roots blower for your car. at 8psi, i made 350whp on a dynojet with mase tuning it. its got power everywhere, and if you daily drive your S, it has power where it matters, the low/mid grunt.

bottom line, no matter what you choose, i highly recommend mase tune it. he has been bar none the best choice i made for my s2k so far.

good luck brotha, once you get FI, there is no going back <evil laugh>

Where is mase located at? I am in Kansas so that may be far away from me. I never thought about SC the S. I always thought a SC would put more stress on the motor since it is always in power. Does the root kit come with everything I will need or will I need to buy extra stuff to make it work? I really would rather turbo, but will think about the SC. I just wish the greddy kit would work with my exhaust I dont want to sell it ( I like it to much ). I know there is some people with a 70mm tp and exhaust with a turbo that doesnt have any problem. anyone?

I have been doing a lot of research and I think I am going to wait for the Mase Turbo kit to come out. It seems very well built!! I can't find anything about when it's going to come out hopefully soon!!!

while im sure mase's kit is gonna be sweet there are too many good kits now to just wait for that kit. Do some reading this same question has been asked a ton recently. I went with PFAB. www.pfabrications.com . check it out, bang for buck is right there too.

the SC does put stress on teh engine, but only when you are higher up in RPMs.

since the boost level is correlated to the rpms, as long as you stay below 5k, there isnt much boost.

check out the SoS SC kit and see their dynos on their website. you can see that the gain in HP isnt huge at lower RPMs and that as you get closer to redline the difference is much more noticeable.

This will create more of a power on demand situation, where its relatively closer to stock for daily driving and when you wanna get on it, just redline it.

I'm not as familiar with how turbos work bc i think theyre a little more customed tuned to how you want it and when boost comes on. ill let someone else commend
