questions for inline pro owners.
I've been trying the search and didn't find much (didn't expect to on the inline pro setup)
i just sold my vortech kit (never installed) and now am going inline pro. I did a lot of reading before finally deciding on the IP kit. Now I just want to prevent any possible/common issues that the kit has.
So far this are some of the common concerns/fixes I've found:
- heat issue with motor mount near turbo: heatshield the motor mount and ARC battery heat shield (as per OGPackin)
- bolts connecting the wastegate and manifold comes loose: use satge 8 locking bolts (I think the new kits may already come with it??)
are there any other concerns or precautions I should take before installing?
who has the most miles on their inline pro setup? any major issues that we can learn from?

InlinePro kit doesn't really have heat issues, I've only heard one one person with the motor mount giving up after thousands of miles.
Also I've never heard of bolt problems with the Inlinepro kit as well as the new kit should come with locking bolts. (I know mine havn't backed out).
Take your time and read carefully, you should be fine.

The front hosing of the turbo hits the chassis pass side leg and inline pro recommend to cut out a piece of the chassis leg so the turbo can fit

and the passenger side intercooler pipe needs to be modify a little.
is a great kit and my custumers are making 440whp@16psi

There are NO issues with the fusebox melting, I have the damn kit for crying out loud and my fuse box is perfectly fine after ~8k miles.
Depending on the size of the turbo, the frame might have to be notched but thats not guarenteed.
You do NOT need an oil cooler. In fact there was a thread just yesterday that stated the difference between an oil cooler and non oil cooler is ~10F. That doesn't seem like its worth it for another failure point in the system. I don't run one and don't plan on running one for some time.
You also do NOT need an oil filter relocation kit. Granted it will be more difficult to change the oil filter without the kit, but its by no means necessary to get one.
The only issue I ever had with my kit was the coupler that connects the compressor housing to the charge pipe. The coupler was hitting the manifold, no way around it or to move it, and had a piece of heat wrap wedged in to stop it from melting. That piece fell out eventually and I didn't notice until I had a huge boost leak, BUT the good thing about an IP kit is that they were able to help me out with a coupler and I heat wrapped it so that it shouldn't happen again.
for IP. I'll show a pic of the burnt coupler when I get it dled from the comp soon, looks great lol.

3. As far as needing a oil cooler, it seems that after what I posted although I don't have a true baseline that w/ an oil cooler is not worth the effort. I might get rid of my oil cooler. Just one more point of failure which failed twice.

Coupler BURNINATION!!!!


I now have wraped a new coupler in heat wrap, and am hoping that it holds up to the high temps of the manifold, but will continue to monitor boost and the feel of the car to see if its being eaten through again. Wish me luck, and be careful of this!

Actually I did forget to mention I also had coupler BURNINATION
problem solved after moving to coupler away from turbo by welding extensin pipe onto compressor housing.
Heat wrapping only delayed the process some but still burned a hole through it.
