Default Raising rev limit with a CTSC

Hi guys,

I should be tuning my car soon with a greddy emanage ultimate, I'm basically 7psi+AC and bolt on's (mods in my signature) AP1.

I believe the true rev limit of an AP1 is 8900rpm, I know in N/A form the engine runs out of puff at 8300rpm un-tuned, however leaning out and adjusting timing the power lasts longer and doesn't nose dive until around 8700 rpm (IIRC).

Now I believe when N/A the efficiency of the F20C begins to tumble somewhere at the higher end of the rev range (8300rpm) and Honda tuned it this way deliberately.

I cant see the point n/a wise to raise the rev limit (other than after-market cams) other than to set me up better for the next gear?

My question is if i raise the rev limit would it be beneficial since now I'm forcing air in and it will change the airflow characteristics due to the supercharger?

1) Can the engine, valvetrain etc take 9100rpm?
2) Would it be beneficial to raise it especially as i am running an SC, I'm thinking 9100rpm Max
3) What would be the exact benefits or is it similar to above?
4) I dont plan to visit 9100rpm all the time, but i guess it will be pretty reliable going into it so long as i dont do it all the time and bounce of the rev limiter
5) Should i not bother unless i'd plan to upgrade the springs+retainers etc?

Thanks

You are correct with the 8900 rpm assumption.

It will handle 9100 rpm without difficulty.

The benefits would be horsepower and boost increase in that 200 rpm and a wider power range.

How many miles on your engine?

Several folks have run slightly over 9K on a 2.0L . Anything over factory redline will be an increased load/stress on the valve springs. Even more so with a SC on the car. I've "heard" that the OEM springs don't float until 10K-ish. Not willing to spin a motor to that RPM and destruction test one.
