Default ran into my first problem with the greddy kit

first off, not my car but a photo to show what i'm talking about, thanks kix

this one nut doesn't seem like it goes on. its almost like there isn't enough clearance for the stock nut with washer to fit. a regular nut will fit just fine so i know the stud isn't messed up.

anyone else ever have to cross this hurdle installing the kit. everything til this point has gone extremely smooth

loosen all the nuts so that the manifold isnt tight to the block and put this nut on first...you will have more room to get the nut on!

Looks like you'll have to start that nut on the bolt when the bolt isn't completely through the manifold. Like hold the nut flat to the manifold and bring the whole thing to the bolt.

Don't worry, those bolts will break soon enough anyway

Yes they will. Loctite green is only rated to 175deg C. There isn't a thread locker I know off besides a welding rod that can handle the heat of an exhaust manifold. Joe, you should order upgraded studs now, and put them in when you get a chance. I broke the stock front top one I swear at least 5 times. jamming two nuts together works good and the high grade nuts with serrated faces worked decent too. Check the stock nuts often for signs of them backing out. Once it's heat cycled a couple of times, be very careful about re-tightening "loose" studs. They may just have weakened and stretched, and will shear very easily.

Yes that manifold sucks to bolt up!
