It's not usually a good idea to let a turbo freewheel.
I concur

Do you not realize that people are in here telling you its perfectly fine to run everything connected and your not taking any advice? Really, your hurting your car more than helping it. Take that stupid filter off, hook your intercooler pipes back up, and dont drive like a retard. Easy as that. A turbo car can run in vacumn on a stock ecu all day. its NO different. By you running the hell out of the car just because you think "my motor isnt getting any boost...weeee!" your just over spinning your turbo since its not doing anything.

The only reason I hooked up the filter that way was to ENSURE that no boost would make it to the engine. By hooking up all the charge pipes, yes it runs just the same but that being said, all it would take is one simple slip of the mind and boom. Positive manifold pressure.

In any case, I do appreciate the input and advice, I do realize what people are saying but I like to get a few different perspectives as well as a rationale. Now everything is hooked back up and all the charge piping is connected. I guess I will just have to pay more attention to the boost gauge.

Next up to install are the spark plugs, fuel injectors, pump and EMU.

A slip of the mind? LOL. How about just not driving like a teenager pulling out of highschool that just got his license. Works just as well.

Well, when I had the filter on the throttle body, I never drove like a retard, nor did I ever say anything about driving recklessly or carelessly. As for the slippage of the mind, I was referring more to things like merging into high speed areas and such. Yes, you're absolutely correct in saying that in avoiding driving like a high school kid who just got his license would just as well. Oddly enough, I teach in a high school to these kids you speak of and did all the work in the mechanic's bay over the spring break!! Would have let the students muck around with it but...then I came to my senses!!

As for VTEC, it's exactly the same as my prelude; it's just a noise maker! Took it to VTEC just to satisfy my curiosity as to whether or not it would have the same results and yup. All noise (really loud!!) and no power.

Honestly, how is this indicative of me driving like a retard? Your attitude is borderline belligerent and taunting. Taking it to VTEC does not mean that I was acting like a school kid who just got his license. Having it run in vacuum with a "stupid" filter on it in my opinion is a lot safer than having the charge piping hooked up to the turbo with no fuel management.

In any case, you've made your point (not so articulately) so if you could refrain from having a propensity towards expressing your crass invectives, I would be in great appreciation.

Wow, it's always a positive experience when people give great advice. Like I said, I like to hear different opinions from "reputable" members and even then, experiencing things first hand is also a good learning tool; however, I hope it's not a costly one and that's why I ran it with the filter on.
