You do realize that what you just said makes absolutly no sense at all right?

With the charge pipe off, the turbo is basically free wheeling and as said, has VERY little to no resitance...meaning its just spinning. A top speed run is no different than a "2nd gear rip" in this case because load is not a factor. Hes beating up the turbo just as bad, since the turbo will take just as long to slow down. There would be very slight difference between these 2 senarios. Only difference being the longevity that the turbo *COULD* be spun at. We really cant judge that without actually knowing how much the turbo is freewheeling...

You can easily over spin a turbo by disconnecting a charge pipe. Ive overspun a turbo before just by having a hole in a charge pipe for a month.
It only makes no sense if you don't understand that a turbo spinning is a turbo moving air(unless the inlet is capped). There is some resistance there, just not a lot.

Also, it takes time for the turbo to get to full speed. With the low resistance on the compressor side, the turbo will go faster and faster the longer you run it. There's a big difference between a quick rip to 6500 rpm and a sustained top speed run in this case. Also, load is ALWAYS a factor in how fast the turbo spins, whether the IC piping is connected or not. Load is also always a factor in how much air goes through the engine, force fed or naturally aspirated.

The turbo does not have enough resistance to make load a factor. there is nothing to cause resistance.

Load has nothing to do with it at all. the turbo is spinning effortlessly...it spins the same at 3k rpms crusing and 3krpms going up a huge hill.
