Default S/C and Tuning

So lets say I strap up a 3.4" pulley+belt go off and spend $600 on a tune. A few months later I buy a 3" pulley and want to run that, will the EMS (HALTECH PnP) adjust? I don't see how the car would perform IDEALLY without being tuned specifically for that pulley. Do you get returned for each pulley?

A small side question, how often do the Novi 1200 upgrades for a CT kit go up for sale? I think I'll eventually want to step it up.

Yes it is critical that when switching pulley sizes to get a retune. If you get a smaller pulley you will also need injectors along with the engine management.

Yes, the tune will have to be adjusted for the smaller pulley.

The retune will/should be cheaper if you go back to the same person.

go with big enough injectors for the long haul that way retunes will be quick and cheap.

Yup, my tuner does $600 for base tune and about $150-250 depending what I need for a retune. The N1000 to N1200 is relatively new so I don't think you will see many used ones up for sale anytime soon. I purchased mine in april and got mine in November. I haven't got around to putting mine on yet, got sidetracked with the drivetrain upgrade.

You are going to Evans for your tune right? Get dyno tuned at full price on whatever your current pulley is, then if you go smaller down the road just pay for an E-tune retune. I think my additional e-tune retune was $100 or 150.. well worth it for me considering his shop is 100 miles away, plus tolls etc.

Not sure that Jeff offers Etune via Haltech PNP

If you are already planning on upgrading, why not do it now?

Seems foolish not to do it ahead of time.

Well I currently have a 3.4" pulley and belt. I read (on here) that the 3.0" pulley is more prone to slipping and that it maxes out the blower?

How much whp will I gain from 3.4 to 3.0?
