S-Max intercoolers ? CO2 internally chilled
hey wassup fellas , just wondering if anyone has heard about WWW.SPEEDMAXPERFORMANCE.COM
I saw their booth at SEMA and PRI and was very interested in their intercooler concept .
here is a brief description of their intercooler :
The Speed Max intercooler offers a unique patent pending feature that no other intercooler in the market can offer. Using a fully integrated cooling coil, the Speed Max intercooler is the first and only intercooler to allow its user to cool charge air without ambient airflow. With the use of any cooling agent the use of this intercooler can greatly reduce its temperature throughout use. Just connect your nitrous oxide, CO2, chilled water or any other agent and see horsepower gain instantly.
and here are some pics i found
Pressure drop : @ 1000 CFM , our 22x10x4.5 core had 0.72 pressure drop .
their website is WWW.SPEEDMAXPERFORMANCE.COM
what do you guys think ?

Looks like a good idea to me. I would think it would be a lot more efficient than simply spraying a cooling agent onto the outside of the fins. You could go through a lot of nitrous in a hurry, though. And if you use water you just have an air/liquid air/air hybrid intercooler. Not sure how effective that would be. I'd love to see some numbers.

"You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intercooler!"
