In the trunk FTW!

I thought it was going to be a lot more difficult the first time I changed mine, but, turns out it's not so bad after all.

Just got to make sure you don't bend the arm on the sender! I would hate to see what replacing that costs.

I wish I would have seen this before I did mine. I couldn't figure out how to get the electrical connector off the top so I did all my work inside the truck. Its painful just thinking of it now..

I just had the roof almost fully open. that is how i was able to get the rear tray out. and then i just did the entire job standing on the ground using the rear window and looking in front of the roof. Only took me about 20 minutes and it was my first time ever doing one on a s2k. didnt take anything from the trunk apart at all.

and now, im smelling gas when I drive... this worries me, as I never want to go into that fuel pump area again...

I checked, and triple checked the fuel rail, and the injectors, no leaks there at all... so I think the smell is either normal (GOD I hope not) OR in the pump area...

Any ideas?

Def not normal to smell it unless u got it on carpet or leaked on the trunk lining. I changed mine out and took about 45 mins all myself when i supercharged (vortech has good instructions too so u know) and there should be no smell, i would make sure you have everything tight and if i recall correctly there is a rubber gasket that seals the pump in the trunk where all those 8mm bolts are, i can't remember exactly but you should not smell anything unless u leaked it. That would scare me!
