Hey guys,

I am trying to decide whether to buy an Ap1 or Ap2 which would eventually be supercharged. I have read all of the other posts about their pros and cons, but not SC vs SC. I understand that boost on a SC car is a function of RPM, so would the Ap1 s2000 be faster (and/or a better candidate) because it has an extra 1000 rpm's to build boost?

An AP2 supercharger kit will come w/ a smaller pulley to make up for its lower redline and make them both produce similar boost levels.

 

You are looking at similar performance from either car. The AP2 uses a different pulley size to account for the lower engine RPM.

The real answer to your question as to which car is faster and which car you should purchase...

TURBO AP1. Mine to be exact!

 

I suggest the AP1 is the better candidate for project car based solely on the fact that a nice one can be had for a couple thousand less than a nice AP2.

And I personally prefer the nose of the AP1 but that's a matter of taste.

 

get the AP2.

 

Best of both worlds- Ap2 motor/tranny/ and AP1 ecu. It makes around 7.5 psi at 9k
