Default SC'er or turbo

i almost have enough money to go FI. the 2 kits i cannot make my mind up about is either the vortech SC/AC kit or the inline pro turbo kit. i just have a couple of ?'s for you guys. how reliable is the inline pro turbo kit? i already know the vortech kit is pretty reliable. how often will i have to get a tune with the turbo kit cause i know some of my friends with quick turbo hondas have to tune them every season change!? and also when going turbo or supercharger would it be better to go 477 gears or 456 gears?

thanx - tom

The Inline pro kit is very reliable. Have Inlinepro install it and you will be good to go.

4.77's its to much. If you wanna do gears the 4.56 is the best bet. Id say there is no reason though. Save that money for a good tune or upgrade to the 3mm headgasket or something.

Make sure you include everything for the turbo because there is a bunch of small hidden fees that you need to be aware of.

I myself do not have a turbo. All this is from what I have read. Hope this helps some.

I've never heard of a inlinepro manifold fail (can't say the same for others ) nor have I heard of any major problems, hence why I went with them

You will not have to retune based on the season. The only way that you would have to retune based on season is if you use a VAFC (totally not recommended) or the emanage with NO pressure sensor (I use the emanage WITH a pressure sensor and will not have to retune unless I add more goodies ).

If you get a turbo probably no gears would be best as you could spend the money on somthing else. In my case I already have 4.57 gears so what the hell, I have turbo and gears now . If you went with the SC most say the 4.57 + SC is the best combo out there.

No, you won't need to retune the car every season, and stock gears would probably be best with the turbo setup (4.57's are prob the best choice for a SC'er). How often do you like to work on your car? Vortech would definitely be the more reliable of the two. Not saying that the turbo setup can't be reliable, but its more prone to having issues pop up here and there. The SC'er will be more maitenance free, but at the cost of not being nearly as fun to drive as the turbo setup. Its all about compromise and what fits you best.

i think depends on how much HP you want. if you only want about 300ish then supercharger would be better IMO. Dont need engine management if SCed(save on tuning money). Tuning can be a problem if you live in the middle of nowhere like me lol.

Does the Inline Pro at $3900 come with any type of engine management? Turbo have more HP potential.

4.77's with a SC are ok. Many may not like it, but I do.

Even if you only want 300hp, the SC and turbo are two completly different beasts. I only have 320rwhp turbocharged, but imo, it feels 10 times faster then the 2 SCed s2ks I've driven in. The massive low end torque is very addicting

And no the inlinepro kit does not come with any kind of engine management.
