Default This section more problems than solutions

I've been reading S2k Forum in many different ways. The aspirated section and the modified section has a bit story to tell.

The forced induction section has more of an acute problems than the aspirated section. Although I cannot claim the aspirated are free from defects, they also shared some mechanical and electrical issues but not to a point of tearing down
the engine, blowing headgaskets, spunning the bearings, overheating, shattering transmission and differentials and spending gazillions of time & dough.

I don't know if anyone notice the daily threads. Nothing but problems.

My personal opinion, forced induction are getting the beatings due to:
promised horsepower, owners inability to understand the mechanical aspect,
how much boost is too much, the ability of the owner to identify maximum capability of the engine & so on.

Just my 2 cents.

RIGHT, isnt that why we build our motors, and do what we do with them.

He's an idiot. Anytime you push the limits of an automobile you are going to run into issues. Doesn't matter where or what forum, leave a vehicle stock and it will remain (mostly) trouble free.

If people enjoy making 240whp n/a and having fun, great, but I'll enjoy my power and deal w/the issues.

Worthwhile trade imo.

I had a boosted 99 civic Si that made 500whp for 4 yrs, only one year did I have a few problems, otherwise it was GREAT.

I've had this car for 2 yrs, boosted, and even though this year hasn't been the best, I'd still do it over again.

Either you are a car guy or you aren't. If it's to much to handle here is something I recommend as a project car.

Link.

I'm sure you are one of those who bold enough to install your own forced induction setup without a proper understanding how it works. There are times you need to leave that task to those people who understand mechanical aspect. Browsing the internet and do your own is not enough or to even call yourself a grasshopper.....then blame the rest to someone.

Little knowledge is dangerous.

I do 99% of all the work on my car since I dont really trust others to do the job correctly, but I also know quite a lot as far as mechanical knowledge on aspects of things. I know whats the right way to do things and whats not and maybe thats why I dont run into many problems unless its something that is out of my control because of pushing things to the limit.

Tuning and engine building accounts for more than 1% of the work on a car Chadd.

C'mon now. You gotta give credit where credit it due.
