This thread is awful and the threadstarter is obviously an arrogant knob.

I've been reading S2k Forum in many different ways. The aspirated section and the modified section has a bit story to tell.

The forced induction section has more of an acute problems than the aspirated section. Although I cannot claim the aspirated are free from defects, they also shared some mechanical and electrical issues but not to a point of tearing down
the engine, blowing headgaskets, spunning the bearings, overheating, shattering transmission and differentials and spending gazillions of time & dough.

I don't know if anyone notice the daily threads. Nothing but problems.

My personal opinion, forced induction are getting the beatings due to:
promised horsepower, owners inability to understand the mechanical aspect,
how much boost is too much, the ability of the owner to identify maximum capability of the engine & so on.

Just my 2 cents.
damn I wish I would have known that.. im going back to NA now

I appreciate the fact that members in the FI thread is willing to share both their success and failures. I give them props for doing that. Majority of the people who ran into issues won't say crap about it because they may feel like its an embarrassing thing to do.

And I am going to hide in the woods so I can't break my s2000 and then come here and scream.

On a serious note, what was the point of the first post?

Alot more people are pushing the limit now. When making this many changes to a setup, many times you will have bugs to work out. If you dont know what your doing or catch it in time it can go bad very quickly. Also not very many post when their car is running perfectly.

I will say Lotus does know Turbos as he earns his living in the turbo manufacturing buisness . I think what he is trying to say is some get in over their head without fully understanding the risks or being able to afford the risks .Or dont understand that Tuners are not Techs and Techs are not Tuners .Or the fact we can not be held liable for work done elsewhere .

I have a customer now that installed all their own parts . Was looking to get someone to tune there e-manage and when no one was able to help, I booked him in with Giles . Well long story short the banjo bolt on the Tial wastegate came loose and cause the car to overboost mid run. Up untill this point there were no other over boosting issues . So he stopped and I closed my shop and ran over and did a compression check and cyl 1 showns ring damage . Now he is refusing to pay the bill and wants to hold both us liable because the stuff he installed failed and purchased elsewhere mind you.

Must be nice to save money doing it yourself and then to blame others when things fail .

For those that DO understand the risks I thank you
