boost cut??

buffalosojah 07-02-2015 06:13 PM

How much boost to make the 460whp? What fuel? Did you figure out what was causing the fuel cut?

Be careful not everyone can hear it but popping can be knock, or as above your hitting fuel cut but it'll be aggressive and you'll see from the exhaust haha. If you play with boost control it becomes quite sensitive in various scenarios (not warm up a hill etc etc) and is more likely to hit fuel cut due to overboost.

The only thing I'd say is fit a brace for the turbo it'll probably crack the manifold in time with that big arse turbo on it and those vents do as you guys say 'jack shit' unless your stationary, get a vented bonnet with louvres to pull out the hot air on the move and when stationary.

It's running fine now after disconnecting the vacuum line from the PCV. Maybe oil in the line was preventing the wastegate from opening?I think it may have been knock and the EMS was cutting fuel?

You really think I need to worry about manifold cracking? I find it very hard to believe that those vents don't let heat out while moving.

Also, here is the dyno:

Its a long branch manifold with a massive weight hanging off it, it'll probably crack the first runner as thats what gets the most heat and where most of the weight is on.

No because they can't let the heat out on the move, when completely still they will on the move nothing, lourves pull the heat out.

Upto you.

Just my 2cents, the only Sheepey s2000 manifold I have ever heard of cracking was Ulmighty's and his cracked on the wastegate flange, no where else. Sheepey fixed the manifold for him. On an additional note, these Sheepey Built manifolds carry a 10yr warranty. But I do agree it is a decent amount of weight hanging off of it and the extra support definitely won't hurt.

Yup my wg flange came off my manifold. As I remember sheepey admitted at fault. It looks like a samurai sword went and cut it clean. Anyways he fixed it no issue just make sure the dumptube wasn't hitting the hood since is hood exit.
