Default should i drive 3 hours on base map to get to tuners?

I'm looking at bringing my car to topspeed and they want to charge me 1k for install and then 300 for wiring my uego and tru boost into my ems but I can do that all myself. The issue is the closest tuner is topspeed which is 3.5 hours away and I don't know if I should drive on a base map that far. What are you guys' opinions. What should I do?

Running on the base map is fine as long as you stay out of boost. You can always install everything but leave the charge pipe off the throttle body and rig up some kind of intake with a filter. Use the injector flow rate wizard in the AEM so you can install the injectors.

disconnect the pipe leading into throttle body and run with a filter on it. Be better to have to connect two pieces of IC piping then the whole thing.

Is this just an EMS?

Even if it's installing the EMS, wiring the UEGO, and wiring the Truboost, $300 is too much. Butttt...it will probably take 2 hours to do, but it's easy. It's just me (well not just me) but working on your car is too much fun to pay someone else to do it. The only thing I'd pay for is a diff installation or a clutch.

Or is the $1K to install a whole FI kit?

Good idea to be prepared for the worst! I would never take a car to the dyno without towing it. Trans could go or engine could blow

It's ok to drive with the base map as long as you dont go pass 6000rpm. When i had my turbo kit on, i drove it everywhere for over a year or so and never had a problem until the manifold started to develope a crack line (that's because i had been flooring pass 6000rpm). The base map is there so you can start the car and drive it to get it tune.
