Default Sideways Intake

Position intake tube so that it clears radiator fan shroud. It helps to remove some of the shroud material for clearance. It just takes a small amount of clearance.

When tightening the clamp over the tubing in the large end of the reducer coupler, go easy. The tubing is not strong and will fold in with too much constriction. Just light to moderate snug.

The filter is 4 inch opening 5 inches wide diameter and 6 inches long

The heat shield is installed by placing it in the correct location and drilling a hole through the cross member. Use a 3/16 drill. The heat shield should touch against the inner fender with the supplied split piece of tubing to avoid vibrations. Make sure the shield is in the correct location prior to drilling. Stainless steel screw and washer included.

The shield is held in place with one screw and washer.

Make sure the shield is in the correct location prior to drilling. Actually the notch over the frame piece will hold it close to perfect. There should be clearance at the supercharger intake like shown in this picture:

The tubing is 4 inch 6061 aluminum that has been bent to a 4 inch radius. This requires massive stresses and some linear stretch marks are present. The heat shield is also 6061 aluminum. I suggest you polish the intake tube with car wax prior to installation and it will look great for a long time.

The heat shield has already been polished with semi-chrome.
