Default Small oil leak on CTSC

i've been FI for about a month now. the car is not driven daily and has only had maybe 10-15 WOT runs. it was also at the dyno for 3 pulls which yielded 290whp - so i doubt there is anything here to affect performance.

i have been noticing a small bit of oil collecting on the crossmember.

since there is no evidence of oil spraying out anywhere else i immediately ruled
out the vtec solenoid block, which i know is notorious for leaking. i assumed it was
the return fitting at the bottom of the unit.

i started taking everything apart today, to check for this leak and to clock my inlet
180 degrees to prepare for intercooler piping. when i pulled the hks filter off the
inlet i found this:

ok, so there is a little oil on the inlet. i am used to seeing this on turbo cars - but
how the hell did it get there?! i am just using a mushroom filter on the inlet, so
there is no blow through from the crankcase. is this normal?!

i pulled the front housing off the blower to check for any other major leaks.

it's hard to see in the pictures but there are little dabs of oil throughout the outer
'ring.' once again, is this alright?

finally, one more picture. on the actually housing i noticed something odd to me.
(once again, im a turbo guy, i know very little about these paxton units..)

i find it quite odd that i can see through the inner ring. looking down the outlet of
the charger when its all together i can actually see the side of the fins. am i missing
a seal of some kind?

if i am being totally paranoid please feel free to laugh at me - i will breathe a sigh
of relief and laugh with you! if you have any other ideas as to where my mystery
oil is coming from i am all ears!

I havent read the whole post but from the pictures i get the same and its widely known that this is usual stuff.
you always get some oil there...just a little bit and thats the oil ring that if i am correct letting just a bit out.
Dont worry and keep BOOSTING and WOT.

I think all of us CTSC owners have this issue. I am pretty sure it is just blow back form the valve cover vent. You will notice that there is a long hose which goes from the air filter elbow to the vlave cover. The turbine is just sucking in some blow-by.

There is probably a trace of oil through the aftercooler and intake manifold as well. I am with stena- "Keep Boosting!"

yea, YOUR old filter is still as clean as it was the day you shipped it away

im in the process of putting everything back together now. i gave the return fitting a nice crank tighter to eliminate the chances of that. we'll see what happens.

I have the exact same on mine. I'm not really too worried about it.
