sounds like ur having the EXACT same problem i just had..I was on the dyno and all of a sudden when we turned the car back on the catch can was gushing smoke. Either piston rings or head gasket. I have a gt28rs and i was getting tons of oil vapor through the crank case vent tube, and then when i took the catch can off it smelled like gas/oil..Have u checked ur compression yet?

Under load thats ok, if just ideling and you are seeing smoke, usually an indication of ringlands/rings gone bad.

Do a compression test and report back.

Yep my buddy's got the same thing going on with his 91 talon. And his exhaust is blowing smoke. But his compression was real good. We started guessing that the valve seals are shot!
