I would remove the turbo and look at the seal. Have you removed your charge pipe to see if there is any oil inside?

anti freeze it is not my temps would be going thru the roof. They are normal. The smoke rises 8ft into the air. I have not tooken the charge off yet. Does oil in it mean bad turbo seal??? I just had my headgasket replaced.

i would first take the charge pipe off the turbo and look for oil.

when the car comes to a stop, idle etc. there is high vacuum. intake valve seals are worn, you take off the car smokes a little then clears up under load or less manifold vacuum. ?

also does the car smoke on off throttle? 60, let off gas. does car smoke?

i had this problem in my ls integra. turned out the valve seals were bad.

when you first start the car up there isnt alot of oil pressure unless you have a very high idle on cold start. the car runs, gets hot, high oil pressure situations 80psi , oil gets on top of the valve retainers, drips onto the valve stem then on top of the seal, hit high vacuum and oil gets sucked into the cc and burns off.

you need to perform a leakdown test if your turbo seals are ok

Is a vavle seal leak easy fix? I have really no idea what is going on here, because not even my tuner has gotten down to the problem. Its almost ridiculous. Im trying to find out info here to give him ideas as to what is wrong. I am pissed. This car should have been 110% a year ago and its still got dumb issues like this. I am no expert, but I know how to take car of a turbo car now for it to have ANY problems besides wear and tear. I havent even put 5,000 miles on the engine and turbo combo. Like I said ridiculous. I bought this turbo new from Inline the only thing they did is change the housing to fit my bolt setup. So now after all this time its messing up. Its been out in the sidelines so much that they probally will not even take the turbo back cause they probally think the turbo has been ran hard w/ no turbo timer for 100,000 miles and say sorry its our fault the turbo was brand new it should of not been doing that. So now I am faced with a possible bad turbo seal or valve seal???? Wow. I should of Supercharged!

Dont even ask me how manytimes I have brought this car back and fourth to fix the same issue and it always comes back. I need some results here. I dont care how much something cost. As long as the product or service is reliable.

Have you had a chance to remove the charge pipe. Take a look inside to see if there is any oil.

If you're only seeing smoke at idle, it's most likely just the seals on the turbo. I just sent back my turbo to Precision this week for this exact problem. It has smoked since the first day I had it on the car... and only at idle because when the turbo is running hard, the pressure inside closes up the gap in the seals and there's no oil that can push past. Precision turbos (the turbos used on our Inline Pro kits) carry a 1 year warranty, so you'll have to see if it's inside that warranty, or you're looking to pay for a rebuild maybe.

Next, I was curious of the brand as well.... is it mobil 1 etc.?

Amsoil is reported to burn very little in comparison to mobile 1 and perhaps would better suit your needs. Still I think all of this is a band-aid fix to some degree.

10-40 is a big difference when we're talking about the issue your having. I think all turbo cars should have an oil cooler hooked up. I really want to add one just for longevity's sake. We all know a hot engine = more wear.
elaborate on this? What oil weight is recommended for starters? I was under the impression that Mobil 1 5w30 was the consensus

i had this problem when i swapped turbos. make sure your oil drain line is in a perfect vertical position.
So you run the coolant line perfectly horizontal through the turbo? I have my lines setup like an "X". 45* off vertical for each of the 4 ports.

I get a little bit of condensation burn off when I start it up (common with no cat).

I also get a nice cloud when I hit VTEC for the first time (only does it if it sits overnight). After the first cloud, its a more normal puff. I figure I am burning a few teaspoons every now and then... Oil level is normal (750 miles since change).

I also cannot tell if the cloud is coming from the external wastegate (only running 6.5 psi, so it probably opens around then).

I never see any smoke at idle. Just smells a bit rich.
