for 5K, you find it, let me know and I would redo my whole set up. It would cost me about that to finish up to get to 400 from what I have now.

Turbo it...you will still spend over 5K, but it will get you to 400 far quicker.

Heh..

Those numbers in your sig.. thats what I want. Can it be done on my budget? I'd be more than satisfied with 360rwhp and 200+. Everytime I see those big bold blue letters I think how fantastic that'd be in my S2000

Take it from someone in the process: even with a fairly priced used kit, you won't be out the door for $5k. I'm already in for $6k and counting, and I'm sponsored, so it would be even more for someone else. DO give yourself a built in buffer for things that will go wrong, because something, however small, will.

only way i see going turbo for 5 k is the greddy kit, i thought you could do it with inline pro, then i started adding stuff up and its more like 7 k, and thats if nothing goes wrong, also you will like the power band of a turbo set up much more than the ctsc

Yeah because 250-280rwhp > 280rwhp-340rwhp since when?

Man, coming from stock you'll be so happy with any boosted setup that all this talk is hot air. Once you get up and going, enjoy the car for a while and then start thinking about the next steps.

For everyone saying that the Greddy turbo kit will stomp the Comptech (or Vortech SC)...go buy the Greddy kit and attempt to come anywhere near 350whp and let me know how it goes. At least an SC gives you the headroom to consider more power...and reliable all day long, too. The Greddy is out of wind at 7psi...

Buddy, if you go turbo save up a little more money and buy yourself a nice cheap & reliable kit like the Inline kit and the turbo of your choice. While you're saving the money, read all about how to tune your car and you'll have taught yourself a skill you can take to future projects.

The Greddy kit MIGHT be faster than a stock SC kit but it doesn't have any headroom for improvement. That's okay if you honestly believe you don't want to go any further ~300whp. CTSC kits get bashed by these guys all day long but is dead on reliable and will give you 80% of the performance of a nice turbo setup without many of the troubleshooting headaches...but it is ultimately an inferior forced induction route in terms of power and torque output.

I don't know how Comptech got a bad name around here but I am very pleased with my higher boost setup. The smaller pulley gave me some extra low end grunt (nothing like a turbo obviously, but better than the stock Comptech setup) and it's a kick in the pants...by anyone's standards.

Lastly, another option that appears to be materializing is the Kraftwerks supercharger setup. It's a rotrex setup that doesn't appear to have the same compromises as one of the centrifugal SC setups...it looks a bit pricey but it's an all-in-one solution that I believe will grow in popularity because there's no need for customized tuning. Personally, if the car is a street car that you simply want to make angry, I would save up for an Inline turbo kit and start reading about all the electronic fuel injection tuning you can get your hands on so that you're ready when the day comes.

I appreciate all your responses guys. I'm still in the market research phase, and I think I'm getting closer to what I want.

How does this setup sound?

-CTSC
-RC Injectors
-Greddy Emanage Ultimate
-FMIC
-Smaller pulley (9psi)

Initial install - CTSC/AF, stock (7psi?)

Later down the line add injectors, e-manage, fmic... what do ya'll think? Sorry I'm such a noob - just want to get a plan in place - soon I'll be in the boosted club!
