Default Something Broke

Alright i went to the track tonight. Was doing ok. On 19psi i did a 12.5 @ 121mph, no launch, and a little spin. But anyways my last run i take off go threw 1st, 2nd, and then half way threw 3rd and at about 6800rpm it sounded like it broke up and the rpms just stuck there. So i immediatley let off and put it in neutral. 2 seconds later the car shut off. It takes forever to start now and when it does it sounds real quiet and the exhaust makes a popping noise and blue smoke comes out. Also it smells like gas. Can anyone chime in and give me some insight. I have a buddy who is going to help me.

Check you injectors. You may have blown one out. (Mine was the number 1 injecotor. Check the O-rings).
Sounds crazy but it happened to me. I had the gas smell, but no blue smoke. My car shut off and would barely start.

Hope you get it figured out.

yeah i think we are going to start diagnosing it on Sunday. Everything is new. I only have like 6000 miles on the kit. Could it be the headgasket? My friend is saying it is most likely the O rings.

Do you have an O-Ringed Block?

I hope it is not your HG.

Is your friend talking about the O- Rings in the fuel rail? Forgot to say that was where my problem was.

My vote is injectors.

This happened on my old DSM, pushing around 450whp. One injector broke and stuck wide open, same symptoms as your car.

check your oil level. Also, check compression, and if anything is off more than 10%, do a leak down. Check your turbo, it might have blown up. If blue smoke is coming out, your burning oil.

Blue Smoke = Oil, White Smoke = Coolant. Sounds like your HG is still intact if it is indeed blue vs. white smoke. Does the turbo still rotate?

i have no idea if the turbo rotates or not. My car has always burned oil so i cant really say that it is part of the problem or not. My oil level was fine. It sounded like it broke up due to not enough fuel or something when i left off the gas. i hope it is just an injector. This really sucks.

Hey! i have a question for ya. i figured you would know or have an idea since i read your posts and you seem to know what your speaking about. I am now turbo and i had a oil relo kit and the filter bolted up to the engine. Well i had just swapped in the new oil relo kit but there seemed to be no place to put it so i placed it on the main beam in from of the motor. After i filled with oil and what not.. she idled great and all but i started to hear a whining sound. Could it be the oil cooler making the sound and transferring it to the frame and thats the sound i hear? any info would help.. THANKS SPEC OPS!
