SoS & Greddy Owners - Opinions needed

With max hp and torque being equal, is the Greddy a superior kit due to the <torque or is SoS due to the <hp?

The Greddy will not hit 350whp like the SOS and therefore I can't compare it to you. Personally, I'd rather have 350whp from a turbo than 350whp from a centrifugal S/C because, assuming the turbo was properly sized, the turbo will have more midrange torque.
However, the downsides of turbo are
-under the hood heat
-increase in oil temperature
-external oil lines
-may be more difficult to tune than a S/C (not a problem for a good tuner)
-lag (if improperly sized for power goals)
-usually more expensive than a S/C
Devs2k, I hear you and appreciate your thought process. Contrary to my comments thus far I kind of agree with you. Two weeks ago I was dead set on the SoS kit and would scoff at the thought of buying the Greddy kit. However the more I look at the Greddy kit, and its adjustability with an electronic boost controller and possible upgrade to the GT3076, the more I'm encouraged to use it. Thus my current thread...
Does anyone know if the Greddy is tricky on track days? I understand that turbo spool on big snails can be tricky and am curious as to whether the one that comes with the kit is small enough to be okay. Also, same question for the GT3076?
Personally (not to go off-topic, I hope) I'd rather have 350 whp from a roots blower but the SOT kit would require the same problems as any turbo other than Greddy: KPro to be reliable, legal in GA and at least 8 hrs of dyno tuning @ $100/hr...

I was going to say....if you plan to spend that much - Just go Mase Turbo Kit - 400whp out of the box and includes everything.....included the AEM EMS that you cant have for emmsions (hence why I cant recommend it then) haha.
I would go SOS then.

Yeah, DSport is definitely on the to-do list, but I thought the thread said the issue isn't coming out until later this week. Is it already out?

Chris, Would the stage 2 make this kind of power in an AP1? How much does the stage 2 upgrade cost? Also, is the KPro already preprogrammed or will it require a day of dyno tuning?
Going to find the magazine tonight. It isn't quite what I'll be setting up initially, but I guess it proves what each kit is capable of. Mr. Smith's post sums up my thought process pretty well:
"For people that have been looking for a true apples to apples comparison of SC v Turbo this might be as close as we ever get. AP2s only identical wheels tires suspension and brakes. One gripe tho... I am gonna go ahead and guess that running the same/similar boost was not a requirement just because I know that Greddy doesnt have a 13 psi upgrade available. If you want to do apples to apples it would make sense to me that you would run the similar psi on all the kits otherwise how is it a fair comparison. It looks like SOS showed up with a 13 psi kit. How can an off the shelf Greddy kit be competitive with that?"
Drew (I assume that's your name!), I wouldn't worry about the fact that Sos ran more boost. They've said they could have made the same amount of power at 10psi with advanced timing that they did at 13psi with retarded timing.
Also, an off the shelf greddy kit professionally tuned is as powerful as its going to be. You won't get anywhere near 350whp safely.
