Default SoS Kit and AEMV2 Tough to Start

Any suggestions for adjustments to improve starting on a 2005, SoS kit using AEMV2?

Car cranks for 6-7 seconds before it comes to life. Happens first thing in the morning and when the motor has been off for 15-20 minutes.

Car is based in Florida.

I have read numerous posts from 7+ years ago working the same problem, wanted to see if there was something more definite at this point.

Thanks!

In general AEM V1/V2 take longer to crank. From what I hear it's a quirk of that ECU.

Mine can be the same way if the battery is weak from sitting or being cold. I like to keep it on a battery minder when possible. Helps a lot.

No or bad check valve in the pump or a fuel pressure regulator that has a bad diaphragm. Fuel is falling back to the tank. When stating warm it’s already at the rail and pops off. When sitting it rolls back to the tank and takes a few seconds of cranking to get up to the engine. Don’t think this is a engine management issue at all.

When I had a V1, if I turned the key, waited a few seconds, and then started, it fired right up. If I immediately tried to start, it took 5-6 cranks.

I always wait for the fuel pump to finish priming before I start my car, it still takes a couple seconds to fire due to crank sensor I believe so just live with it, not a real issue tbh.
