do it right to start or you will F-up the blower. Modify the waterbox, clean weld paint and have it right the first time you run the dyno

Hi All

Has anyone attempted to run the Bosch recirculating valve which comes with the SOS kit on like 16/17 psi? Basically im fitting a smaller pulley at the weekend ( 4.4 to a 3.2) however i do not have a BOV sorted yet.

Will this be ok for a month or two until i get one sorted? Also, is there a way of fitting an aftermarket BOV which doesn't involve welding it to the box?

Cheers
And you know this as a fact?? Do you have supporting data for this? What testing was done to prove this? Was SOS informed of your hard data on this?

I hope you know what your talking about before you talk.

Lots of people have ran the N1200 blower up to 15-16psi without issues on the stock DV valve. And most of the guys I have seen that have had issues are venting to atmosphere. It has something to do with the vacuum on the output of the DV valve that keeps things in check.

Thanks for the advice, i will cancel the dyno session until i get this sorted then.
Just out of interest, is there another way i can fit a BOV without having to cut into the aftercooler / weld on? Can this not be fitted where the currect diverter valve is fitted?

thanks

Yes there are several options out there.

I run a Turbosmart Kompact Dual exit with my SOS kit. It vents some air back into the system and some into the atmosphere, and was a direct replacement. You need something that has 25mm/1" inlet and exit.

I've had a few different sc kits and I always seem to have trouble piping the ac setup the correct way. Is this correct? The hose from the pump goes to the lower side of the aftercooler and the hose from the bottom side of the heat exchanger goes to the high side by the fill plug. It's correct according to the instructions but I don't see any flow inside the fill cap of the the ac...

No it's not the bottom of the pump should go to the after cooler for sure.

Man I guess I spoke to soon I was positive there was a 90 degree hose from the bottom of the pump to the HE...guess not. Maybe the pump is just air locked. I have to crack a line at the pump to get it to prime the first time.
