Default Spark Plug Extenders for CBR954 Coils

A number of people have asked me about the size and type of extenders I am using on my car with the CBR 954 motorcycle coils. So rather than PM individuals, I figured it would be better to post here. Here's a picture that tells all.

Fred, have you found any other solution for this? I remember one member had a problem with the shrink wrap melting off or deforming.

I have been on the hunt for some time now with no luck at all finding something longer that works.

Since I have no mechanical inclinations and I pay someone to do all my work because I don't understand pretty much anything that is going on inside my car and I take everything you guys tell me as gospel, would you mind telling me if I need these coils for my setup and/or what is the point of them and when does one start using them? Was that a run-on sentence?

I've never had a problem with the heat shrink melting. And I've been using this setup for over 2 years. I still haven't found a longer coil pack.

If you're making (or planning on making) over 500 --streetable -- whp with your setup, then you should look into getting an aftermarket ignition system like fperra's. Stock ignition system seems to falter right around there.
