I have 3 friends with 8th gen SI's(2 turbod, 1 s/c'd on flashpro, tuned by different tuners including jeff evans) that have the long start problem and the horrible rich fuel and low idle unless the blip the throttle to get it up. I think its a problem with flashpro and not the tuners.

On the dyno the wideband would go pig rich on startup no matter what. It almost seems like an overly rich post fuel causing the stalling issues after start. There is no post fuel adjustment in flashpro though :/

what are your short term fuel trims saying?
You are referring to my S. Trim while cranking, correct?

Jeff, I really appreciate your help! It's funny you mention that, as just yesterday I was thinking this exact same logic and planned today to drive the car for a while, then remove the rail and injectors and place them in something metal to see if they do leak.

What did you ultimately end up doing to fix it?

I'm testing it right now... after a 10 minute drive with lots of boost I parked the car, pulled the rail, and placed the injectors on a paper towel. I'll know within the hour whether or not the injectors are leaking after being turned off hot.

After an hour of sitting, it appears that you may have found the answer to my issue!

It was not a huge amount, but their were fuel stains on the paper towel...
I've placed a new paper towel under the injectors, primed the fuel system, and plan to let it sit for a few hours.

Last time I placed them in cups without even thinking about the gas evaporating. Hopefully this will show signs of a leaky injector!
I'll keep the thread updated!

Additional 1.5hrs of sitting; sign of a bit of fuel leaking from cylinder #4. Not so much the other three, but certainly from #4.

After I put the injectors back in and started the car it fired right up with no extensive cranking. Sadly it immediately stalled. Tried to fire again, sadly there was a lot of cranking involved this time.

I assumed you have cleaned your IAC VALVE.

Its not your cranking trims that need to be resolved when the car wants to stall/has low rpms that’s in your standard ign/fuel maps.

The issue with not being able to start after heat soaking sounds like you have had a bunch of smart tuners look at those maps don’t; know what to tell you there.

I say take your car to Mase. If it is in the tune he will get it straightened out.

2007 Drive by Wire; no IACV.

When the car does eventually fire it does sometimes immediately stall, however at this point I'm more worried about fixing the 5-10 second cranking time before firing, shortly followed by a cloud of fuel smoke.

Thanks Jeff, that makes a lot of sense!

What do you recommend; new 900cc injectors & upload original tunes cranking fuel trim, iat comp, ect comp, and crank fuel table?
