Default Stock Clutch with CTSC?

I'm doing a budget FI setup with a used CTSC from a friend and am wondering if anyone knows of a budget clutch setup that will hold the power. I'm on the OEM clutch @ 126,000 miles (actually it's the TSB recall clutch from 02/03). In any case the clutch is holding fine now but I suspect that won't be the case with 230 rwtq.

It's my daily driver and I've had an ACT HDSS setup before which was IMO too stiff for a daily driven car. Does anyone know of a good budget setup that will hold the power with a stock like pedal pressure?

P.S. I did a compression test last oil change and it was perfect.

Thanks in advance.

I drove my CTSC setup with stock clutch on my last s2k for 20k miles and it was still going strong when I sold the car. If you aren't dropping the clutch don't worry about it until it goes.

I understand it's much easier to do a clutch before the CTSC and with 100K on the clutch I don't think it will last much longer, but I could be wrong.

You will have to change it eventually, and believe me it will be cheaper to do it before you put the SC in....

Stock clutch + reinforced Pressure plate + Toda flywheel works great on 9psi CTSC.

Stock clutch works great as long as you don't do clutch drops at every light, or go to the drag strip every weekend.

stock clutch with 230+wtq cant possibly be happy and if it is, not for long. heres the thing, you can try it, but its harder to install the clutch when the SC is already in. there is more to remove. if your doing all the work yourself, and dont mind extra work, then yeah, try it first with stocker.

my stocker wouldnt hold NA power, so i cant imagine it holding boosted.

The Spec stage 1 sounded good till I read about all the clutch decel buzz. Just want an OEM style setup that can hold the torque. Wish the ACT PP was less stiff, I would combine that with a stock disc.

I definitely wish I would have. A budget clutch is one you install yourself. If you have the space, tools, and time, the parts become secondary. You can easily buy all the parts you need for alot less than the labor to install it.

There's almost no way a clutch with 126k will hold up.

Was the ACT on an S2000? I don't think I can remember anyone thinking the ACT PP was too stiff for a DD?!?

ACT HDSS kit was on my 2000 civic I had about 8 years ago. It was pretty darn stiff IIRC, probably 2X stiffer than the stock feel on the S2000 and 4X stiffer than the stock civic clutch.

Where can I get just the ACT HD pressure plate the cheapest? I think I'm going with that and a factory honda disc.

Although we don't really get many complaints about pedal effort on the S2K, ACT recently changed the design slightly (first production last month) to reduce pedal effort without compromising performance. It will also work with the stock disc.
