Default Stock Clutch rating

Hi,

Looked but cant find info, what will a stock clutch take until it starts to slip in WOT without dropping the clutch? in terms of WHP or torque at the wheels?

Thanks

I am at 125k miles with original clutch. Supercharged for 5k miles? I make about 343hp/225tq

I can't always slam through gears like a heman due to slippage, however if I tone it down and shift calmly, each gear catches and it pulls just fine.

Don't be lazy. Just replace it with one that can hold power.

I believe a few people on these boards have opted to use a stock clutch and an aftermarket pressure plate with their boost setup. You could probably use it without any slip issues at around 400hp (possibly more) but dont quote me on that.

Stock clutch is for stock power. I installed a brand new oem unit while back just to give it a shot. It slipped immediately at 8psi in anything over 4th gear, wouldn't hold 3rd at 12. By 1000 miles it was gone. Don't waste your time, if its gonna be boosted, do the clutch first.

How is that being lazy? I have over over 60k boosted miles on my stock oem clutch, holds just fine at 300rwhp 200tq (CTSC'ed). Second, hes asking info on the stock clutch, not if he should upgrade, he didn't even post his numbers or his goals. All he wants to know is what it's rated at.

I don't launch, but I do go through the gears aggressively very often.

Unfortunately I don't know what it's rated at, all I can tell you is that it holds my power just fine.

What fun is just 300 whp in these cars? lol. For most people once they have that they will just want more.

Better to replace it now than go to the tuner and have them send you packing because your clutch would not hold any power and then you just wasted $500+ on a tune session with nothing to show for it.

For whatever reason, my stock setup sans CDV on my '05 couldn't hold my base/6 psi SOS setup with bolt-ons with 34k miles. I believe it would start slipping in 4th gear above 6k.

ur right, we should all have over 500rwhp, better make a new post telling everyone under that, that they are fools for having basic kits why did honda even make this car NA right? lmao

Again, he's asking for info on the stock clutch. look at the title of this thread, now look back at me, look at his post, now look back at me, now read it slooooowly, one word at a time. for your info, from what I read on his other post, he is running a 10lbs pulley, on stock clutch, holding fine for the past 2 years, your argument is invalid.

to the OP, I also had a 10lbs pulley @350rwhp and held fine for the 2 years I had it on, then decided to tone it down a bit and lower it to 7lbs. I will be putting on a 3" pulley soon, just as I think you plan on doing too, this will require a stronger clutch for sure.
