Default stock comptech s/c kit straight bolt on?

So I recently chatted with an old friend that I haven't spoken with for over 10 years and found out he has a s/c s2k. He's going to part it out and sell it and is willing to install it for me for a great deal. Sounds tempting but I would like to know is it just a straight plug and play? I asked him tons of questions and he said he's had the kit for over 2 years and over 10k miles with no problems. He is on stock fuel pump, no tune, stock ecu, piggy back. He said all he did was bolt it on and that's all. He dyno'd at 328whp.

I've never dealt with any s/c applications so I'm pretty clueless. Is it really just bolt on and drive off and that's all? Wouldn't I need more than that? Any advice would be appreciated. It's really a great deal that I'm about to pull the trigger. Thanks

I personally have the comptech aftercooled supercharger and yes it is a bolt on system if you are running stock boost of 5-6psi. I am not sure why your friend did not upgrade his fuel pump, but that is definitely recommended, as you do not want that to go out on you. The comptech supercharger uses a piggy back unit called an ESM to fool the ecu from noticing that you are running boost, however that is only good for 5-6psi of boost, after that if you decide to go up in boost you will need a stand alone ecu. I installed the supercharger and aftercooler with a couple of friends and its really not that hard, if you can actually see how its installed on the s2k and take some pics it will help you out when you install it. But there are also instructions on how to do it that are very helpful. Which supercharger is this?

Yes he's only running about 6psi. So it's really just a plug and play kit on stock boost? No need to upgrade anything or tune?

as long as you have the ESM and the upgraded fuel pump you're good to go. assuming this is the full kit with aftercooler and all. is this a comptech kit?

Yea I have the same but an SOS stage 1 and it is literally a plug and play system. I would prefer that it wasn't so I could increase the boost. . I just wonder how he's making so much on 6psi or why am under powered.lol. I'm only making 280.

He's going to let me drive his car and take a look at the s/c before I make my decision. How would I know if the kit is in good condition? Yes this is the full kit with an aftercooler but he's using a mercedes cls55 amg cooler. Anything else I should check before making the purchase?

What kind of kit is this? comptech? vortech? i am really interested in this cls55 amg cooler, can you take a pic or two for me? what is he asking for the kit? is he willing to help you install it? the important thing is the mileage, so if hes the only owner and he only put 10k miles on it, than thats very good.

He's a tech for mercedes, that's how he got the cls55 cooler. He's going to install it for me free of charge if I don't haggle down his asking price. He's going to let it go for $2500 with the install. I'm not sure if he's the only owner but I'll ask. He said he put about 10k on it in 2 years.
