Default New to supercharging

Well i have had my01 s2k for about a year now and have only changed out the exhaust. Soi am now deciding to do the comptech supercharger kit with aftercooler. Now i know a decent amount about cars (hondas in general) but have never really know much about the whole forced induction setup.I hae been doing lots of reading on line and am somewhat confused. Now i have a couple of questions if someone could help me that would be great

1. any one know of a shop to the sc install in the losangeles area

2. since the rest of my car is stock is there any other upgrades that i need to do when adding the comtech kit? One thing i read was about banjo bolts?? i have no idea what those are

3 and three any advise that anyone could give would be greatly helpful

Thanks

1. Post this in your regional forum. The "locals" will know the answer. Some guy in Europe or Canada won't know what's available in your area.
2. Stock supercharger kits are designed to bolt on and go. The oiljet bolts are what channels oil to the jets that spray oil to the underside of your pistons. The ones on the early model cars were 2-hole bolts. The upgraded ones have 4-holes, which produce a more effective spray. These were a recall item in Europe and thusfar, has not been an issue on N. American cars. Putting on the newer bolts is like insurance. It's not absolutely necessary but nice to have. Lots of supercharged cars still run the old bolts without a problem.
3. Have you read all the stickies at the top of this forum?

1. Anthonys mufflers, in Whittier can do the install...they do alot of work with s2000's

2. You may want to upgrade your clutch the same time... as they are in the same working area and you won't have to pay alot extra for it down the line later.

3.It's just a bolt and go kit so just have fun after install.

Peace

Just finished my CTSC w/ AC install last night. It was a lot of fun. If you are close to Whittier, then I would take it to Spugen for the install. I believe I read it takes them 5 hours to install a non AC kit. It took me 1 week with a few hours per day working on the car. If I had to do it quickly, I could probably do it over a weekend with a buddy to help. I also have the old banjo bolts and chose not to install new ones (even though I bought some). Someday I might install them. The car is definitely a different beast with FI. I love it.

tony fuchs ginormous performance van nuys ca...

He is the man he is honest and reasonable and will goabove and beyond the call of duty...Well verses in s2000's puts together race engines drivetrains etc..he knows are cars inside and out....about the clutch...probably a good idea to get one..depends on how you drive..my car had a year old clutch in it when the kit was put on and i havent even sensed a slip..im sure i will soon but then again i dont do clutch drops....

do a search tony fuchs hes done a bunch of work for various guys on the forums...

im sure all the other places are good as well ..i doubt that anyone here wold reccomend a turd shop......

if you do do it yourself its not really that big of a deal..espically the comptech,,...if you do the clutch i would reccomend getting a bung tapped into the pan above the drain bolt and do it vortech style while its out....the comptech is good and all but the possibility for cross threading the adapter every time you change the oils is far greater.....friggin alumnium......

and another thing!!!
check out doing the oil squirter upgrade...good saftey precaution.....once again search engine is your friend

its friggin awsome once its in though...how the car should have come in the first place
