Default Stock exhaust on a turbo...

I am getting ready to go trubo here within a few months. And i was curious if anyone has tried using their stock exhaust on a turbo S2K? i want to maintain the stock appearance and i do not want a loud exhaust.

but is the stock exhaust is too restrictive?

i will be dumping the WG into the atmosphere.

Any help is appreciated.

Thx

How much boost are you planning to run? What size downpipe? Will you have the cat or a test pipe?

I think you will be OK with stock exhaust. It's a pretty free flowing one. It will help if you wrap the down pipe to keep the gasses hot.

ATP turbo has what they call the VES (virtual exhaust system) its basically a dump valve that you put after the DP and it has an acuator to open it once you get into boost. all the advantages of running open DP while being able to keep the stock exhaust. so its similar to any electronic dumps you may have seen but it is boost controlled.

maybe you should look into it.

Make sure you place the wastegate dump far from the turbo intake.

In regards to the cut out, I assume you would need a seperate fuel map to keep things safe.

no you dont. The actuator and spool of the turbo are always happening simultaneously.

i say you go with an electonic exhaust cut out that you can control from inside the car. guys that have done this on this forum have gotten up to a 30hp gain. it will keep a nice stealth look and sound until you open that valve..

Yes, Lovefab's 4" down pipe and 4" to 3" test pipe will bolt up to stock exhaust. I know for sure since that is exactly what I have for now.
