Default Stock flywheel vs. Comptech flywheel with sc

I wanted to get the comptech flywheel with act pressure plate but it's in back order until mid-july...so I'm planning on using my stock flywheel+act pressure plate with sc...

any huge performance difference between comptech flywheel vs. stock with sc?

Not sure.....

You could get an 00-03 flywheel, it's much lighter

I'm in the process of putting in a ACT pressure plate, Comptech flywheel, and OEM friction disk. I'm having a hard time finding the Comptech flywheel also and I am contemplating spending $480 for a Toda flywheel which are in stock right now. I'll probably end up just resurfacing the stock flywheel.

I heard that the Comptech flywheel was a reworked OEM.

Comptech Flywheel is a Comptech piece.

ACT pressure plate is a beefed up stock Honda pressure plate.

Which is why it works so well

I feel there is a performance difference. The lightweight Comptech flywheel will allow the engine to accelerate quicker. When included with a comprehensive program to lighten the rotating mass and the drive train it makes a major difference.

Am I imagining things or did I read in a post a little while back that it is harder to change the flywheel after the S/C install?? I don't see how it would change anything.

Removing the trans is more difficult with a SC installed. You need to remove the aftercooler, and pull the alternator out to reach the upper starter bolt.

Removing the exhaust manifold gives you more room to pull the trans off the block, but access to the bolts is limited by the SC. You can leave the manifold on, but you will run into a wresting match getting the trans out.

The front subframe must be lowered to access the top trans bolts. When you lower the subframe, the SC unit will be resting on cross beam below it. You will not be able to lower the subrame the same distance as a non-SC equipped car.

The job can be done, but the difficulty level is raised even further.

You can use the Fidanza flywheel. Its got a removable frictional surface as well. I believe you can pick one up for ~$320 just do a search on the web.
