the engine sits so much upfront that they can run a short driveshaft to the front diff instead of placing a FWD set-up engine on top of the front axle like in all FWD cars.

next year will debut several pro fwd cars that are f20c power. Some will feature v-drive technology. If I'm not mistaken that is Levon's race car (btw..best wishes to him). Rumor has it some have seen close to 1500whp on the f20c.
Should be an interesting year. As for wasting their time, I really beg to differ. The results will speak for itself.
