Default super charger questions

Hello all.

I am coming from a HIGHLY Modified 550 +to the wheels STI
to the S2000.

I would like to supercharge the S2ooo. However I have alot of concerns.

How do the stock internals handle the supercharger? Also how are the extra fuel requirements met? What will the injector duty cycle jump to with the supercharger?

It seems alot of put a super charger on however I have alot of questions that dont seem to be addressed in any threads. The supercharger applications dont mention bigger injectors , the need for bigger injectors , or wideband air fuel guages , not to mention egt guages or stand alone ecus.

Is it that much easier to supercharge an S2000 ? Simply buy the vortech kit and no worries? Or are all the things I did for my Sti being missed by alot of people ...... ie: stand alone ecu, clutch, forged internals, fuel rails, wide band air fuel guage, egt guage, bigger injectors, beefed up dif, etc etc.

thanks for the input guys.

By the way I love my S2000!!!

you would probably get better responses if you posted in the Forced Induction topic, but anyway. the stock s2000 internals are forged, so they can put up with quite a lot of abuse. from what i know, supercharger kits come with a new fuel pump, and as long as you are on stock boost, you do not need to upgrade the stock injectors. However, if you intend on upping the boost (as i am planning), then you will need to get new injectors and EMS. Both the vortech and comptech kits come out of the box ready to go and can actually run fine on the stock ECU, however, i would go and get AFR's checked to make sure it is running safely. I ordered myself an EGT just to be on the safe side.. if you plan on launching the car a lot, look into getting a new diff. or a reinforced one because the S2000's stock diff. is not one of its strong points..i know im missing a few things, but i hope this helps you out.

First post here and I post in the wrong section... my apologies I cant believe I did not see the FI section. Perhaps a moderator could move the thread.

Thanks for the prompt replies guys.

Forged internals stock ! woo hoo!

I definately do not want to go crazy with this car.

If I can buy the supercharger kit and pick up 100 hp and 50 torque with no other add ons, that would be great.

Hard to believe the stock injectors have enough room to add that much more power. wow

So you are telling me that the stock ecu will compensate the fuel needed for the added air the supercharger gives? no piggy back needed or FPR?

Thanks again for the help

they will give you a rising rate FPR to contol the extra fuel. Supercharger is the way to go for worry free headaches

seems like the supercharger is the way to go.

Kinda weird that the ecu does not pull timing with al that extra air.

The Vortech comes with a timing box to pull some timing out. On stock boost (7PSI) you will basically be maxing out the stock injectors. I am running more than stock boost so I have 550cc injectors, AEM FPR, and an Apexi VAFCII to get more fuel. I also have gauges to make sure everything is in line (wideband, boost, oil press.).

Oh, and you will sometime need/want to upgrade your clutch. I chose the Exedy hyper single 6 puck kit.

I always recommend an AEM EMS for FI users. I used to be supercharged but I was not on stock boost. My Vortech was running at 11psi boost. If you want just 100whp gain, stock kit will work fine. An S2000 normally puts down 200whp and with the Vortech SC, you will make somewhere around 295-305whp which is what you are looking for. It will not cause you an headaches. The kit is basically bolt-on.

BTW, stock internals will work fine. I'm making 450+whp @ 19psi with stock internals. no problems though i am pretty much at the limit.
