Default SUPER EMERGENCY WIDEBAND HELP

Putting my wideband sensor in. Just to verify, this replaces the sensor in the HEADER not the one just aft of the cat. Correct?

(and if only that one would come loose. %$^%&$*!!!!!!!)

Thanks Mark.

We will see if that is necessary.

If I don't need emergency back surgery from being under my dash all weekend I should try to fire it up tomorrow.

I installed the Walbro, that works great.
Installed the guage in my dash.
Installed the Boomslang with my narrow band output from the PLX to C16.
Made a panel for under the seat with all my PLX junk and a fuse block. Installed the sensor and routed the harness into the passenger compartment and under the seat.
Ran my vaccum hose to the PLX module for boost under the seat.

Got lots done.

Tommorrow the the plan is to wire up all the grounds to a good source, bolt the EMU and PLX stuff in their places and fire it up.

I am told that I can fire it up with the emu turned on and all dip switches off. Correct? If that works then I will install the injectors and then fire it up again with the map you sent me. If all goes well I will be all set to slap a kit on when it gets here. Its going slowly but for an amatuer I am trying to do ev everything as best I can so I don't have to fix half-assed work every weekend. I need to know it is done right before I can have the courage to take it a few hundred miles on a weekend trip somewhere with a twisty road.

I also have more abrasions on my hands then skin now.

Before you fire it up tomorrow give me a call.

the map I sent you already has the injectors scaled for the 550s.

It is an easy thing to change that so it will not scale anything so you can start it with your factory injectors still installed.

Ok. I will probably be working on it mid afternoon if you are hanging out. I have a feeling I will be pretty creaky in the morning and have a lazy start to the day. Getting under the dash and dropping the steering colum was a pain.

If you have something planned tommorrrow and are not reachable, son't sweat it, I have another vehicle to get me around and am in no rush until the kit gets here.

AEM or some kind of piggy back?

If it's an AEM your wideband sensor replaces the O2 sensor closer to the engine.

If it's a piggy back then your ECU will throw a code if it doesn't see the narrowband sensor in place. Best to pull your header and install a new bung for the wideband.

Piggey back setup

Ithe PLX replaces the stock front o2 sensor.

The factory O2 sensor is either tie up out of the way ( left plunged in to prevent O2 heater CEL)
Or
one must wire in a resistor to simulate the factory narrow band heater.

The PLX then has a 0-1V output that feeds the stock computers input tag for the A/F

^ is this true? If I leave the narrowband plugged in then there is no need to wire in the 20 Ohm heater circuit? The hot exhaust gases have nothing to do with the heater circuit?
