Ok, based on what you have said I will give you some advice. Since you have only bought the car three weeks ago I would first advise you to RESEARCH until you are at the brink of insanity to see what will suit you best. Basically, Turbo is always > then SC in terms of the powerband (hitting full boost at 4,000rpm instead of 9,000 at redline with a SC'er), making more power with ease (after it is setup), but these pro's come with a price. Basically, the install with a turbo setup, no matter how bolt on you are lead to believe it will be, is more involved than a true bolt-on comptech or vortech SC'er kit. In addition to this there are higher levels of maitenance, the car needs to be tuned, and the overall costs are always higher. In the end, with VERY few exceptions, a turbo'd S2K will spank a SC'd S2K at similar boost levels and the turbo lag that you mentioned you were concerned with is NOT AN ISSUE at all with a properly sized ball-bearing turbo such as the GT3071R. After you research a little more you will find that the only FI for this car that has lag are the centrifugal SC'ers that don't make full boost until redline.

Yep. He's right. Turbo is better if your budget is big.

Thanks Exclusive, yep If anything I'm not going to drag race my car, but do come autocross, and just daily driving. I'm not looking into something that will make boost at high RPMs. I had an STI and that was not bad stock. I'm looking for something with a little more kick than that.

If you aren't looking for something that makes boost at high RPM, then the only current solution for you is a turbocharger.

Now the question is what is your budget?

I been looking at the LoveFab kit, and I've started to put money aside for it. The stock exhaust can be used with this turbo kit. Could any other after market exhaust be used? I was looking into modifying my rear exhaust to the Mugen one, with the 2 tips coming out the bumper. Will this setup also work with the turbo kit?

^ Well, yes, the stock exhaust or an aftermarket dual exhaust will work, but it will definitely limit the turbo's potentional. Back when I had my dual HKS on the car I could only boost 6psi, but when I put on my 3" single the car was able to hit 7psi that the wastegate spring was rated at. So, it really depends on what kind of power you want to make. If you are fine with lower boost levels and a less efficient setup then you can go with a dual exhaust, but I wouldn't reccommend it. I would at least go with a t1r sparrow (70mm dual) if you want to keep the dual exhaust.

Thanks, by the way, what single exhaust setup are you tunning? I was looking at the Amuse R1000 or J's racing 70mm exhaust if I was to go single.

Yeah those are both awesome exhausts, keep in mind that those are 70mm exhausts -- or about 2.75" (some of the biggest piping for the S2000), but some of the companies that make kits also have exhausts up to 4" in diameter on their cars.

So basically you want the most freeflowing exhaust possible with a turbo setup. There are guys running 80mm (3") exhausts on NA S2000s with good results, so throw a turbo into the mix and you will definately benefit from bigger piping. I would go with *at least* a 70mm exhaust with a turbo'd S2000, anything less would be detrimental.

No problem. For the longest time I hated single exhaust, but since I went turbo I saw the need for one. I went with a LoveFab 3" single, it seems to flow great for my needs. Zbrew summed that up pretty nicely, I would go with at least 70mm for a single, but 3" is ideal for a moderate setup.
