Supercharger Vtec engagements and piggybacks?
Nice to see that you are stepping up and using the AEM FIC, I know with the last version of the software, people didn't have much luck with it, and now most were scared to try the new software. Big props for being the ginny pig.
As for my own issue, I'm still dealing with the lean condition with my AFR at WOT. Since I had my wideband installed, I've kept an eye on my AFR as well as getting my car dyno'd again at our recent local dyno day, and sure enough my car is still leaning out too much.
Basically, at WOT when my car cross over Vtec, the AFR drops to high 11's which is ok, but then it will steadily climb up to high 13's, which is not good. This is with 4 threads left on the Comptech FMU.
So with your suggestion, I tried to crank the fuel all the way up (to the knob), and then use the VAFC to lean the fuel back. This didn't work out so well for me because:
1. My VAFC is an older version.
2. The car ran very unsmooth compare to before.
3. Got major black smoke and back fire.
4. My AFR still hit 13's at certain points during WOT, eventhough I did not lean it out with the VAFC.
My conclusion was that, even with the fuel pressure turned all the way up, it just wasn't keeping up with demand of the engine fast enough. So no matter how high the pressure was, I would still get the momentary lean spots in my AFR curve. Also, I was pretty much maxing out my stock fuel injectors at max pressure (worry about them not providing a steady stream of fuel), so I figure there's no point trying to band-aid the problem anymore with multiple weak points in my setup.
