Default Switch between BOV or Recirc for Vortech?

Good afternoon! A hot one today. Staying cool in the AC right now.

I tried searching but I'm not sure this has been broached before. So here goes:

Is it possible to run 2 options for my BOV mounted on my Vortech aftercooler?
  • The first option would be to run the TIAL 50mm BOV that I have running now to give you that pssshhhhh sound.
  • The second option is to run it in re-circ mode so that its quiet(er).

Maybe I could mount a switchable something-or-other to divert away from the BOV into the intake. Would that screw up the tune or ability to run, etc? Am I ?

Bring me your ideas, odd or otherwise.

Thanks!

I had my car setup similar to what you have in option one, I was running a Tial QRJ and had it venting to atmosphere, I did see someone posting their kit for sale who was running a dual BOV, one was Tial and the other was the stock Bosch that comes with the sos kit. I will try to find that picture for you, I think you would be fine either way you do it the Tune might not be affect drastically.

Its not that I want to do it either way, its that I want to run it both ways. Like, hit a switch inside the car, it runs re-circ. Want it loud? I flip the switch and it runs the BOV.

lol that can happen too just going to require more work. You can have a switch inside the car which will activate the BOV vacuum line and then flip the switch to activate the Bosh vacuum line. Use a solenoid valve to do it. That's the only way I can think off.

That is actually a wastegated setup. Not quite the same. He was bleeding off boost with the wastegate.

Yeah I remember him mentioning it in one of his Racing and Competition posts. He runs in a weight:horsepower ratio class.
