Default Synchronic BOV by Synapse Engineering

My Forge Motorsports billet BOV seems to leak a little from time to time under boost. I remove it, clean it out and it works fine for a while then starts leaking again...always between 7000 and 8000 rpm. I "hear" and feel the loss of boost.

I'm thinking about trying something different. The Synchronic BOV looks like an interesting and perhaps higher tech replacement. Please respond with feedback good and bad if you're currently using the Synchronic BOV or have used it in the past.

We have been using these for a few years now and they have been awesome. No problems with high boost at all. We have ran 40psi with no leaks. We always have them in stock ready to go also.

I got mine from Chris to replace my broken Greddy BOV, no issues at all. I like the sound too. Whats also nice is the adapter flange you can get for it, so you dont have to weld a different one on your IC piping.

They won't work if your bov flange is on the hot side as in the stage 1 IP turbo kit.

I’m not a turbo setup

But please explain what the Syn BOV will not work on the hot side pipe.

I run the Synapse BOV on my Evo, and it has worked very well. I like the design and have not had any issues with it leaking. There is some partial throttle flutter, but that is to be expected with most BOVs.

Just be aware that it is a big BOV, so take fitment under the hood into consideration when deciding.

Nice BOV. I ran 32PSI, no problems in my 4g63 evo 3 motor.

It'll give you compressor surge...

Im curious about your post Spec, if the BOV opens whether on the hot-site or cold side of the intercooler, why would it make a difference, the compressor would be the result of the intercooler piping being completely sealed off, if the BOV is opening and closing properly and the BOV opens and creates a hole in the piping, how can it surge the turbo?

Is it b/c it allows the turbo to spin too freely or b/c of some other issue?
