Im curious about your post Spec, if the BOV opens whether on the hot-site or cold side of the intercooler, why would it make a difference, the compressor would be the result of the intercooler piping being completely sealed off, if the BOV is opening and closing properly and the BOV opens and creates a hole in the piping, how can it surge the turbo?

Is it b/c it allows the turbo to spin too freely or b/c of some other issue?
Well the ideal placement for a bov is as close to the throttle body as possible. I can't explain why the synchronic is so fussy about placement but on my IP setup, no matter what I did with adjustments / different springs / different vac sources, it would always surge at full throttle. I ended up returning it.

I know people who have it and works perfectly fine, the only difference is their bov is on the cold side.

The compressor is surging because it wasn't opening fast enough so some of the backed-up air made it to the compressor instead of being blown off.

My Tial 50 mm is driving me CRAZY with flutter surge at partial throttle and at medium throttle. It only blows off at full throttle lift. I have changed springs and it leaks at partial throttle and will not stay closed unless full throttle. UGHH. I just bought the synchronic last night and will post up differences.

no one has any complaints about the mounting system?
it seems really flimsy to me with only those tiny set screws. mine has never fallen off or leaked or anything, but the BOV doesn't seem it as is securely mounted to the flange as a BOV that mounts with a Vband or two bolts.....

I installed mine today. HUGE difference over Tial BOV. No compressor surge anymore and no fluttering. Holds boost to 28 osi with no probs and opens instantly on throttle lift. No partial throttle flutter blow off or anything. Absolutely what I was looking for.

As above, new style with internally built port c (boost only) and large mounting screws. Used the adapter for the Tial mount and installed it in 10 minutes. Perfect.
