Question Synchronic Universal BOV

hey guys! i need your help,

After looking at many BOV for my comptech supercharge on my S2000 i decide to order Synchronic Universal BOV. Part just arrived last week and it doesn't seem to be direct weld on.

1. Parts comes with SB001.1A Aluminum Weld-On Mounting Flange. Is this the right mounting flange for the Comptech Supercharge aftercooler? Or i have to custom the mounting? if so, how?

2. The Synchronic itself have 3 different Port A, B, C (4-5 mm ID hose), what do i need to do with it? coz i don't seem to find the hose on my comptech to fit them? do i need to connect them in order for it to work?

3. It comes with a tuning Manual which doesn't explain about installing for the supercharge, can someone please help and guide me on how to install this on Comptech supercharge aftercooler.

Thanks

You need to probably custom weld it to the charge pipe unless you can find a flange that fits in the stock supercharger bov location

1)The piece the kit comes with is NOT aluminum. It's stainless steel. If your pipe is aluminum, you need to buy the aluminum piece. If you try to weld the stainless steel piece to the aluminum, you will run into a heap of problems.

2)The hoses....the ports on the back of the BOV need to be connected for a vacuum source, and the port on the side, a)you can not use it if you are running under 10lbs of boost or b)if you want to use it, it must be connected to a BOOST ONLY source. NO VACUUM.

I have the synchronic BOV and love it, but don't understand why they give you a stainless steel weld on flange. Who has stainless steel intercooler piping?? So dumb!! It's just a way for people to spend more money on the aluminum flange.

Sorry, I can't help with the install on a SC. Good luck

if you have an sc, just switch to the comptech bypass valve...no issues whatsoever. i got tired of having to deal with BOV issues on top of everything else, so i just got the comptech bypass valve.

but basically you need to get an aluminum flange and get someone to weld it on to the hole that comptech included for the bypass valve hose.

tuning is the same for the supercharger as it is for the turbo. basically set the stiffness of the spring to a point where the valve stays closed at WOT all the way to redline and then pops open as soon as you let go of the throttle.

I'd be interested in why you chose the Synchronic.

It seems it doesn't bolt up directly to the SC, and doesn't have the required parts to weld to the SC.

What led you to think the Synchronic was the best choice? The Godzilla bolts directly to the SCwAC and the TurboSmart Kompact can be fitted to a non-AC SC with nothing but a screwdriver.

hey AUS2000
thats because i think its louder than Godzilla,... u told me once to get godzilla but i read on the post that many with SC are not happy with Godzilla coz it dont make much sound... so anyway now that the parts arrived half-way across the world and NOW i can sEE that its freakin hard to install it coz i dont know how to weld on the stainless steel mounting flange to the AC-SC
can u HELP PLEASE!!!

Can i weld it on like at a muffler shop? would it messed up my SC?
where is the vacuum source that is directly connected to the intake manifold?
Do i need to tee the vacuum source?

It's not called Godzilla because it's subtle. It's one of the loudest BOV out there. The problem is not the BOV but the SC. You're not pushing enough boost for that fully sik 'PPPSSSSSHHHHFFFFTTTT' sound.

But either way a Godzilla will make more noise on your SC than the Synchronic will sitting on your desk.
