Default T4 turbo on a S2k question...

Hey guys, I just wanted to introduce myself since I'm a brand new member!. I'm very new to s2000's but have been building B-series turbo motors for over 7 years. I recently came across a very good deal on a PFAB log manifold, DP and DT. My question is, what is going to be a good T4 flanged turbo that will fit the PFAB manifold, clear the hood(not sure if that is even a problem), and last but not least give me a decent spool making full boost around 5500-6000 RPM?

I've read probly 120 pages in the forced induction forum to familiarize myself with the parts, EMS's, and all the other info I could learn about these beastly motors. I read a post on ROB's car from a while back when he switched manifolds to an Inline-pro sidewinder manifold using a Precision 6165 T4 turbo. The spool up looked really good, but I needed opinions from some people that have used a T4 on their car and the pro's and con's of it.

BTW: My car is a '00 with 69k on the clock. NFR

T4 is pretty big = big power, but somewhat laggy.

I thought the Pfab log was a T3 flange. I have a 6165bb turbo on a inline log and I make full boost by around 5k'ish. And thats 20psi. So most people have been using the 5857 or gt30 (quick spooling turbos) gt35 and 6262 6265 turbos (still good spool more high end power) for the car. I am happy with my turbo so far. I would highly consider you getting a BB turbo. You should have a good set up with any of the turbos listed. Just make sure you check on fitment and such.

I basically copied what Rob! did with his inline log set up. Thats more than enough power for me. Good luck with your set up.

Is you manifold t3/t4?

Get the P 5857

Anything BIGGER is overkill on a log manifold

WOW thanks for the fast responses guys.

This is a straight T4 flanged manifold I bought off a member in the for sale section on the first page(sorry I forgot his screen name).

Revenge: Is that 6165BB a T4?

I guess my real question is, I set my goal(given is a log manifold) to 600-650 with this car on Q16 race gas. What is going to be the best T4 based turbo that will get me to that # without taking a lifetime to reach full spool.

I just need two good options to think about in ball bearing form and journal bearing form. I would like to stick with precision turbos...

Thanks again guys

You can get these turbos in a t3 or t4. I would say for that HP you need a 6265 or 6262.
