Default Taking the head off anything worth while doing?

I suspect I may have had head lift so going to fit arp head studs and new HG I'm running a gt35r turbo setup.

Just wondering if their any modifications worth while doing or fitting cams etc etc. Do aftermarket cams yield power?

I'm currently revving my ap1 (actually ap2 UK engines but revs to 9k) to 9200 rpm, is it worth while fitting new springs and retainers and revving higher or do stock cams not like revving anymore than 9200 rpm?

Is it also worthwhile fitting a hondata intake manifold gasket? I hear they can melt?

Also worthwhile boring out the intake manifold opening and fitting a 70mm throttle body? Does it actually make any power?

Thanks

Springs and retainers would be a good idea. Clean the head

I've been there and here is what I decided and did:

Aftermarket valves can be had in less weight and ti retainers save a bunch.
On my head,10% of the valve train weight eliminated.

After market cams are a real crap shoot.
A couple companies have come through and the results are less than stellar.
It's a trade off between mid range and top end.
The factory cams can be adjusted for overlap.

I always suggest new high performance valve guides with those new valves.
As far a valve springs, I've been running 9650 rpm with factory intake springs.
The intake springs are stronger than the exhaust.
I used all new factory intake springs on all intake and exhaust valves.

Avoid surfacing the head if possible as it will increase your combustion pressures.

The horsepower continues to climb beyond 9200 rpm.
Hondata gaskets will melt and give leaks.
Opening up the intake manifold and using a larger throttle body makes it easier to make more power.

Look at InlinePro as they have about 20 levels of head work. I know you will not use them because of your location, but you can see what they package together for each level for you to use as guide from mild to wild.

Bump, doing this soon next week.

What can i safely rev to on stock cams?

What components would be needed if i can do the above? and i guess its worth it?

Seems a larger TB and bored out intake manifold opening wouldnt really yield much power?

i don't think intake manifold and throttle body is worth doing on many cars

is it worth revving over 9200? i would imagine at a certain rpm your torque curve probably falls off greatly and your turbo efficiency falls off and you're basically just spinning the motor with no real purpose in doing so Lol
