1) Take the back plate off of the TCT where the seal is.
2) Retract (Pull IN) the piston with m5-.8 bolt & nut.
3) Put TCT in place and tighten where it mounts.
4) Now release the piston and put the TCT back cover back on.

Wham bam thank you ma'am


Edit: Quick FYI. I rebuilt mine 4 times because I was tired of buying them. Each time it lasts me 10-15k miles before startup noise comes back so, I switched to MOTUL SYNERGY 6100+ 10W40 and startup noise went away on my 10k miles rebuilt tensioner.

I then went back to MOBIL 10W30 Extended Performance and the noise is back. Just fyi. Could be a fluke or just a weird incident. But I start to believe that it is MOBIL oil related more and more.
